He
also

certificates
from
Moody
Bible
Institute
of
Chicago.
He
started
preaching
in
1950
and
pastoring
in
1954.
He
pastored
Northside
Baptist
Church
in
Gaffney
for
over
50
years.
He
went
home
to
be
with
the
Lord
on
July
24, 2019.

old
boy
at
the
North
Cove
Baptist
Church
in
Marion,
NC.
He
was
married
in
1981
to
his
wife
Vicki
with
whom
he
has
6
children
and
7
grandchildren.
Dr.
Davis
pastored
the
Georgetown
Baptist
Church
in
Leicester,
NC
from
1992-2016
when
he
accepted
the
pastorate
of
the
Emmanuel
Baptist
Church
in
Dennis,
MS.
Pastor
Davis
went
home
to
be
with
the Lord on March 21, 2020.
Two Great Men
Two Great Ministries
The
Believer’s
Institute
was
founded
in
1969
as
a
correspondence
study
under
the
direction
of
Dr.
Edward
McAbee.
These
studies
were
literally
mailed
around
the
world.
On
March
6,
2000
the
first
on
campus
classes
were
held
in
the
training
center
of
Northside
Baptist
Church
in
Gaffney.
An
Associate
of
Biblical
Studies
degree
and
a
Bachelor
of
Biblical
Studies
degree
were
offered.
In
the
winter
semester
of
2006,
the
Master
of
Biblical
Studies
program
was
opened
for
those
who
wanted
to
further
their
education.
In
the
Fall
of
2009,
a
website
was
created
and
courses
were
uploaded
to
the
internet.
This
did
away
with
most
of
the
need
for
classes
being
burned
on
a
CD
and
made
correspondence
degrees
much
easier
to
access.
In
December
of
2012,
Dr.
McAbee
turned
the
institute
over
to
Dr.
Robert
Jarvis.
It
was
then
moved
to
the
campus
of
Welcome
Baptist
Church
in
Union,
South
Carolina
in
January
of
2013.
Graduates
from
B.I.B.S.
pastor
churches
all
over
the
upstate
of
South
Carolina
and
are
scattered
around
the
world
in
the
service
of
the
Lord.
Grace
Baptist
Bible
Institute
(formerly
Georgetown
Baptist
Bible
College)
was
founded
in
2008,
under
the
direction
of
Dr.
Lee
Davis.
GBBI
was
an
in
class
institute
of
learning
on
the
campus
of
the
Georgetown
Baptist
Church
in
Leicester,
NC.
The
goal
of
the
college
was
to
educate
and
equip
men
for
the
ministry
while
allowing
them
the
privilege
of
remaining
in
their
home
church
and
under
the
tutelage
of
their
pastor.
The
college
offered
a
comprehensive
education
at
an
affordable
price.
Associates,
Masters,
and
Doctorate
degree
programs
were
offered
to
the
students
of
the
institute.
GBBI
became
an
online
center
of
learning
in
2011.
This
administrative
change
made
it
easier
for
students
around
the
world
to
receive
their
degree.
GBBI
was
privileged
to
have
many
pastors
around
the
United
States
as
will
as
missionaries
worldwide
studying
in
the
institute.
In
2016
Dr.
Davis
resigned
the
Georgetown
Baptist
Church
and
accepted
the
pastorate
of
the
Emmanuel
Baptist
church
in
Dennis,
MS.
The
institute
was
subsequently
relocated
and
renamed
the
Grace
Baptist Bible Institute.

wanted

reach
people
at
home and abroad. The similarities between the histories of the institutes make this obvious.
In
the
Spring
of
2020,
the
Lord
began
to
work
in
the
hearts
of
the
men
who
had
been
entrusted
with
these
institutes
concerning
what
we
had
in
common.
Our
doctrine,
our
desire,
and
our
direction
seemed
to
line
up
perfectly.
We
agreed
to
make
the
prospect
of
joining
forces
a
serious
matter
of
prayer.
After
several
weeks
of
prayer
and
three
days
of
discussion,
we
were
confident
that
the
Lord
was
leading
us
to
combine
our
institutes.
We
were
in
agreement
that we could be more effective working together than we could apart.
Advance
Bible
College
was
created
to
further
the
work
of
God
which
was
birthed
and
burned
in
the
hearts
of
Dr.
Davis
and
Dr.
McAbee.
The
faculty
today
carries
that
same
burden
for
this
college
and
the
work
of
God.

mission
is
now
our
mission.
We
are
the
ones
who
will
carry
the
torch
that
these
men
passed
to
us.
We
truly
believe
they
both
